Game Objective
To win a battle in Pixelmon TCG (PPTCG), push the fireball towards your opponent to defeat them. Players push the fireball back and forth by dealing damage to each other with Mons and Spells.
Game Flow: Turns
A game of PPTCG proceeds in turns, with each player going through the following phases:
| Phase | Description |
|---|
| Start Phase | The current player draws a card. Some card effects activate. |
| Main Phase | Players can play spells, summon Mons, and attack during this phase. |
| End Phase | Some card effects activate. After this phase, the turn is passed. |

Playing Mons and Spells cards
- Mons can be played onto any empty slot on the battlefield during the player's main phase.
- Spells can be dragged onto the battlefield or any target (if needed) to play it.
- Mana required will be consumed when playing cards.
- Only Evo Tier 1 Mons can be played on the battlefield. Evo Tier 2 and 3 requires evolution.
Evolution
- Mons can be evolved into their higher tier forms by evolving.
- Mons can be evolved by playing their tier 2 or 3 form over their tier 1 Mon that is on the battlefield.
- This cost mana similar to playing a tier 1 mon
- Mons can also be evolved from the suspend zone. Open the suspend zone by tapping on it and drag the higher tier Mon out to evolve.
Suspend
- Once per turn, players may suspend an Evo tier 2 or 3 Mon.
- Drag the card from hand onto the suspend zone to suspend.
- Suspending a Evo 2 or 3 mon will create a copy of the Mon that is 1 tier below into the player's hand. (E.G. if Evo tier 2 is suspended, its evo tier 1 will be created).
Mana Scale and Passing Turns

- Both players share the mana scale that goes from 0 to 10.
- Each player starts with a base mana of 2.
- Players will always begin their turn with at least their base mana.
- Players are not restricted to the amount of mana they can spend per turn.
- As players spend mana to play Mons and Spells, the mana indicator will move on the mana scale.
- Once the indicator moves past 0, the current player's turn will be forced to end. No further actions can be taken once the mana passes 0.
- At whatever mana the indicator is at, that will determine how much mana the opponent starts their turn at.
- Turn doesn't end while it's on 0, only when it passes 0.
- The more mana a player uses during their turn, the more mana their opponent will get for their turn.
- Players can also pass their turn by holding on to the Pass button.
Combat
- Anytime during their main phase, players can tap on Mons they have played to command the Mon to attack straight ahead.
- If there is an opposing Mon in the same lane, it will deal its' ATK to the opposing Mon.
- If a Mon takes damage more than its HP, it will be destroyed.
- Mons do not retaliate when attacked.
- If there are no opposing Mon in the same lane, it will attack the enemy player.
- Damage done to players will push the fireball towards them.
- Attacking player "Gains" health due to the ball moving towards the opponent and further away from them.
Sequencing of actions during your turn
- There are no phases to play Mon/spells and attack. It is all the same phase.
- Sequencing spending of mana and attacking is very important.
- Players can still attack while at 0 mana before playing cards to pass the turn.
- Passing of turn only occurs once the turn passes 0. Attacking with Mons do not spend mana, thus it is usually beneficial to attack 1st before playing cards.
Sudden death
- Sudden Death is triggered at the end of a player's 10th turn or when they attempt to draw from an empty deck.
- When triggered, only the triggering player is affected.
- Instead of the fireball moving, the player's HP moves one step closer to the fireball.
- Sudden Death does not deal direct damage, but increases the risk of defeat as the Heart nears the fireball.
Winning the game
The game ends when:- The fireball is pushed all the way to either player's heart.
- This can happen at any phase as long as a player can take damage.
